I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to provide an update on the number of increased-cost-of-business grant applications approved and paid to businesses by Cork County Council to date.
Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on financial supports for food-led businesses, including whether he supports the reintroduction of the 9% VAT rate in budget 2025 in recognition of the continuous financial pressures on the sector.
Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister of State with special responsibility for disability services to provide an update on the removal of transport charges for HSE service users in the community healthcare organisation, CHO, 1 area.
Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to provide an update on the legislation proposed to govern short-term letting and, in particular, measures to protect short-term holiday and tourism letting.
Senator Mary Seery Kearney - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the request from the Multi-Unit Developments Act reform group to appoint an interim owners' management company regulator to address concerns about the interim remediation scheme.
The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected Senators Lombard, Ahearn, Gallagher and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now. Senator Seery Kearney may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
