I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Victor Boyhan - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on progress in applying in Ireland the principles of the European Charter of Local Self-Government as set out in the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities report in 2023.

Senator Alice-Mary Higgins - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the measures being taken to implement the directive on adequate minimum wages in the European Union, in particular Articles 4 and 5.

Senator Mary Seery Kearney – The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the commencement date of the Health (Assisted Human Reproduction) Act 2024; and progress on the establishment of the assisted human reproduction authority.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Transport to provide an update on funding streams for independent voluntary rescue boats around the country, in particular for the Cahore Inshore Rescue Service, County Wexford.

Senator Marie Sherlock - The need for the Minister for Education to set out the timeline for completion of the school building projects at Clonturk Community College as part of the educational campus project at Swords Road, to also include classrooms for Gaelscoil Áine and Ellenfield Community College.

Senator Timmy Dooley - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the Broadford and Cooraclare sewerage schemes in County Clare.

Senator Mary Fitzpatrick - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on her engagement with the State Examinations Commission regarding the proposal from Dyslexia Ireland that additional exam time be given to students with dyslexia in the junior and leaving certificate examinations.

Senator Fiona O'Loughlin - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for special education and inclusion to provide an update on the provision of autism spectrum disorder units at Patrician boys' school, Newbridge, County Kildare.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected Senators Victor Boyhan, Alice-Mary Higgins, Mary Seery Kearney and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
